Self Assessment
1.) What will I take from this class next year?
U.S. History II has been the best class of the semester. I have learned a lot from the fun activities that we do in class like the monopoly game, the Great Depression game, and all of the group work projects that we were allowed to do. More specifically though, this project has taught me the most about history from my past experiences with classes. In other history classes the final project was usually an essay. The essay just let you learn the fats. From this class we got to do a project for the final and that made you learn the facts, connect them to other events in history, and make connections into the world today. I will take all of the eleven sections that we have learned about through the semester and bring them with me to my history class next year with connections on how they revolve around each other. I will bring the connections from history in the past to history in the present day to history class next year.
2.) What can I improve on?
I can improve on my tolerance for history class. At the beginning of the year I hated history class and thought that it was really boring. After this semester I will miss coming to history class because of all the fun we had together learning about history. I never knew that history could actually be interesting, but with the right teacher that knows all of the fun ways to teach history, then history can be a blast! Another thing I could improve on is managing my time more wisely when given a project in advance and given months to do it. For all of the projects throughout the semester I have done them at four days before they were due, except for this project, and have rushed through all of the information. This project was different because I managed my time over the couple of months in advance to when the project was due and I realized that I learned more information that way. Maybe with a little more practice of managing my time and having an open mind to topics would help me learn more about the topics from history.
3.) How was I able to use my resources?
In the end my resources were everything that we have learned from class in the form of notes, projects, worksheets, tests, activities, and the internet. I found that I did not need to google everything I needed to cover in this project because we learned about it in class. The only reason why I used internet websites was because I wanted to give more detail on every subject mentioned. What I found to be the most useful resource were my projects from over the semester. At every section we would usually have a project assigned and that went into the PRIMES that we learned about in class. So when it came time to talk about the subjects in this final project all I really had to do was look at the older projects and summarize what they were saying. I loved how what we learned in class had relevance to the final project because it helped me on it and sometimes classes are not taught information that would help you with a final, which makes the finals a pain to do.

4.) How can knowing American History Help me in general?
This answer goes back to the essential question given at the beginning of the semester. 'Is history a history of progress?' By knowing history it will help me progress through life and not make the same mistakes that have been made in the past. That's why there are so many dumb youtube videos out on the internet. Also knowing history will help me out in general because when I grow up I want to be a doctor. History has many references to the science field. Whenever there were any epidemics in history then there could become plagues which would kill many people and you would learn about that in history. But more closely relating history to science, when there is a disease and it starts to spread it is called a plague. Then the plagues travel through historical events like wars and immigration to lead to epidemics in certain countries. That is how yellow fever and small pox traveled through history and many more plagues have made its way through and into history as a history of progress when cures are found and recorded in historical time records. History relates to my interest in life into the science field.
