The Cold War & The 1950's
Is History a History of Progress?
This is an image of a family in the 1950's watching the first television ever made in history. The 1950's is known as 'The Golden Age of Television', this is the reason why a picture of a family watching television was chosen. War during the 1950's was going on in Korea and the world used the television as a source to gather all of the news going on in the war. So messages about the war that needed to get out to the public in the 1950's were done so on the television. At the time the messages had to be prerecorded. The image of the television represents the 1950's time period because every family during that time went out and bought a television for a cheap source of entertainment. It was very common in the 1950's to own a television.
