Who is he?
Franklin took on presidency at a very tough time in the economy. He became president during the Great Depression as the Americans savior that would help them bring faith back into their lives. He protested that “All we have to fear is fear itself.” With that quote Roosevelt won the trust over the people and started bringing their lives out of the economic collapse of 1929. He married Eleanor Roosevelt and attended the Ivy League school Harvard. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the Democratic nominee that would run against Herbert Hoover in the election of 1932. In 1921 Roosevelt caught polio and ended up in a wheelchair after fighting to maintain his strength in his legs. However he showed the nation his true leadership skills when he offered his New Deal just in time for Christmas. He was one of the most effective Presidents in history and was the only President to be elected for four consecutive terms.
Why is he important?
Franklin Delano Roosevelt is important because he helped turn the economy upside down in a good way. The economy was suffering economically, financially, and socially. So when it came time to election Roosevelt gave a speech about how he was going to create new jobs for people that were unemployed and call the New Deals. In his new deals he promised that the life of Americans would be better and that they would all benefit from it. Roosevelt is also important because he is the reason why the United States started crawling out of the financial crisis that it was caught up in caused by Herbert Hoover. Franklin Delano Roosevelt ensured the people that he would be involved in the lives of Americans and that when they needed help he would send some aide so the people. Roosevelt was one of the most beneficial presidents the people of America has ever had.
Does he show progress?
His name is a symbol for progress. Whenever someone mentions Franklin Delano Roosevelt the first thing that comes to people's mind is that he created the New Deal Programs that helped America get back on its feet and start moving toward progress. Without Franklin Delano Roosevelt then the economy would have gotten worse with president Herbert Hoover in office and then maybe the trading industry with all other countries would of came to an end because the country was so poor they could not afford to buy anything from overseas. Maybe other countries would have tried to take over the United States because of the week state that the country was viewed as to the world. Roosevelt was the best thing that could have happened to the United States and every American citizen is proud of the most caring and respectful president in history.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt did not help the country lead into the next era of WWII because he was too busy trying to strengthen the country from the economic debt. All a war would do would be to put even more financial debt onto the large pile the United States already had. Even if Roosevelt didn't have a direct approach to leading the world into WWII then the economic state that the Great Depression created around the world had a contributing factor. With all countries angry and upset with their financial status the war could of been around the corner at any day during this time.
